“Here we are in a world of writing and paper montages pertaining to various educational or commercial usages stemming from a personal or cultural intelligence foreign to our understanding. A codified formula, owing to lines, columns, and squares. I complete the graphic organization of the paper, canvas and photographic surfaces by using graphic signs whose function is ambiguous. While remaining purely graphic, these signs seem to adopt the function by being corrections or annotations. The grid is fine but you need a third or fourth dimension to be added to it. This dimension is an open space. The surface has a need to breathe. I peel off some strips to let the emotion through.”
