About the artist

Julie Ouellet

Julie Ouellet

Born in Québec in 1974, Julie Ouellet completed a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts at the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1998; during her time at that institution she was awarded its McAbbie Bursary in 1997, and its Board of Trustees’ prize in 1998. Her works have attracted attention through a number of solo exhibitions, including La décharge, at Galerie Simon Blais (2004), Recent Works, at the Charest-Weinberg Gallery (Miami, 2006), and Chimères, at the Maison de la culture Frontenac (Montréal, 2011).

She has also taken part in a number of group shows, among them Génération Montréal, Ville peinture, organized by Marc Séguin (Montréal, 2002), Blanc Silence, at Galerie Simon Blais (2006), and Dessins, at the Maison de la culture Frontenac (2010). Her work can be found in the collections of Alcan and the Cirque du Soleil.
