Through this exhibition, Carol Bernier continues her exploration of pastel, testing the limits of this medium, but also employing oil paint as is her habit.
She is an artist who follows her intuition entirely, creating abstract landscapes; in this case, celestial landscapes. As she pursues this dialogue with her canvas, an image begins to take shape in her mind. As such, her creative process has a meditative dimension. Enchanted by light and transparency, she creates unique compositions by superimposing many pictorial layers, particularly glazes.
