The exhibition Chantiers presents a group of recent photographs by Montréal artist Yann Pocreau. Exploring the nooks and crannies of residential construction sites, he lingers over the relation existing between building, architecture and photographic composition. In this way, the angular volumes of buildings and those delineating light in photography become the subject of a resolutely abstract, geometric body of work. Here, those interstitial moments in which merge the built, the stamp of architecture and what has been torn down combine with the capturing of a natural light that divides and organizes space to form works of great visual power. Yann Pocreau would like to thank Boréalis, la SHED architecture and its clients for their invaluable collaboration.
