This group exhibition spotlights various strategies some of the gallery’s artists have investigated to link works together. Those that have been selected for this exhibition propose various ways of creating meaning by making connections between two different pieces or joining together two surfaces that complement each other.
Whether in works on paper, photographs, or paintings, our artists demonstrate a striking degree of creativity in challenging the limits of their favourite medium. The some twenty examples to be exhibited include works by young artists like Jessica Peters, Alexis Lavoie, Jean-Sébastien Denis, and Éliane Excoffier, as well as by suh seasoned practitioners as Carol Bernier and Michel Goulet. Moreover, the greats of the past—including Jean Paul Riopelle and Jacques Hurtubise—will also be represented.
Based not so much on an array of diptychs as on a set of formal connections, the exhibition will offer a look at explorations of meaning that are sometimes very surprising!
