Isabelle Guimond

Isabelle Guimond lives and works in Montréal. Her art has been exhibited in Québec, the United States and Mexico. The recipient of the 2014 Sylvie and Simon Blais Award for Emerging Visual Artists, she was also a finalist for the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Fellowship in Contemporary Art. In the last few years her work has been on view at Galerie de l’UQAM, Galerie B-312 (where she took part in a round-table discussion on issues in painting), Galerie Les Territoires, Centre des arts actuels Skol, Maison de la culture Maisonneuve and Galerie Simon Blais. She has had residencies at Centre Sagamie, Galerie B-312, and L’Écart, where she also showed her work as part of the Filles Debouttes! collective (whose other members are Christine Major and Gabrielle Lajoie-Bergeron). In 2017, her most recent solo exhibition, Autre que moi, was presented at Galerie d’art d’Outremont (GAO). Her work has also been featured in the Conseil des arts de Montréal’s CAM en tournée activities, and the group exhibitions Geist: La présence représentée, at Galerie Laroche/Joncas, and Insulaire, at Galerie Trois Points.
